Obituary for Janet Ann Butt
Janet Butt
February 28, 1944 - June 28, 2016
Passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents George and Ella Butt, brother-in-law Ian bruce Allan, sister Ruth Allan, sister-in-law Dorothy Butt, nephew Neil Hooper, and Ronald Hurst. She will be dearly missed by brother Ronald Butt, sisters Pauline Power (Maurice), Elaine Barr (Allan), nieces Christine Allan Hurst, Cindy Hooper, Rosalind Reid (Randy), Lisa Tremblett (Glen), nephew Ronald Butt Jr. (Marina), seven great-nephews, one great niece and one great, great nephew as well has her many friends and colleagues. Janet worked in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University for 31 years, retiring in 2005. During her 31 years in medical education, Janet was a familiar face and mentor to many of the medical students. Funeral service and burial to take place at a later date in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society
