Obituary for Doreen Sylvia Barnes

Doreen Sylvia  Barnes
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doreen Sylvia Barnes announce her passing in her home in Grand Falls-Windsor on September 24, 2012 at the age of 76. Predeceased by her brothers, Harold (Edna) Davis, Charles Davis, William Davis, Rex Davis, and George Davis. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband, Kenneth Barnes; sons, Ken (Hazel) Barnes Jr. of Ignace, Ontario, Rex (Debbie) Barnes of Grand Falls-Windsor, Paul (Suzanne) Barnes of Grand Falls-Windsor, John (Wendy) Barnes of Guelph, Ontario; daughter Michelle (Lou Lawrence) Barnes of Paradise. Also leaving to mourn are her sisters, Betty (John) Mercer, Marguerite (Helmut) Mazerreeuw; sister-in-laws Lydia Davis, Eileen Davis and Leona Davis; grandchildren, Lynn Barnes, Danielle (Luc) Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Jasmine Barnes. Michael Barnes, Ashley Barnes, Keith Barnes, Robyn Barnes, Paul Bennett, Lisa Moreau, Holly Lawrence, April Lawrence, Elsa Barnes, Sylvia Barnes, Emma Barnes; 11 great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews; close relatives and friends. Father William Houlihan conducted the funeral service at the St. Joseph's Church. Interment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery on Union Street in Grand Falls-Windsor on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Pallbearers were Paul and Rex Barnes, Lou Lawrence, John Mercer, Dave Davis and Cameron Snow. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Grand Falls-Windsor Cancer Clinic.
