The Story of Our Funeral Homes

story of our funeral homes forest photoIn the 1930s and 40s, J. Goodyear & Sons operated a funeral business as a small part of their larger construction company. Grand Falls Funeral Home was incorporated on January 22 1965 to stand on its own. In the late 1960s, a location in Gander was added, thus changing the name to "Central Funeral Homes”. In 1977, Terry Goodyear further separated the funeral home by selling off his interest in J. Goodyear & Sons and keeping the funeral home business. In 1978, a location in Springdale was added. In 2000, Michael & Sheila Goodyear took over the reins and helped move the business into the 21st century. In 2010 they opened the Bishop's Falls location.
